A mechanically activated stretch laminate comprising: a first substrate; an elastic film attached to the first substrate via an adhesive such that the first substrate is attached to the elastic film on a face of the film; at least one tack down region disposed proximate to an end of the stretch laminate; and an activation region disposed interior of the tack down region; wherein the adhesive in a portion of the activation region includes a plurality of stripes having a distance between adjacent stripes and each stripe having a stripe width, wherein a ratio of the stripe width to the distance between adjacent stripes is about 0.75; and wherein the adhesive in another portion of the activation region includes a plurality of stripes having a distance between adjacent stripes and each stripe having a stripe width, wherein a ratio of the stripe width to the distance between adjacent stripes is about 0.5.
